Privacy Policy

Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Stream Gazer apps and the services available through streamgazer.app. It does not control websites, streaming providers, or other services that you choose to connect to Stream Gazer.

You can use a self-hosted catalog.json without creating a Stream Gazer account or subscribing. Account and Cloud Hosted Catalog features require the information described below.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, password hash, email-verification status, account status, and account creation and update dates. We do not store your readable password.
• Device and binding information: an app-generated installation or device identifier, device name, device type, platform, binding status, and related timestamps.
• Subscription information: product, transaction, subscription-status, expiration, grace-period, storefront-environment, and related verification information supplied by the applicable app marketplace. Stream Gazer does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
• Catalog information: the titles, channel-image URLs, quality labels, and stream URLs you save in a Cloud Hosted Catalog.
• Technical and security information: essential session-cookie data, request timestamps, and identifiers derived from information such as an IP address for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Our hosting systems may also produce standard server logs containing an IP address, browser or device details, and requested pages.
• Communications: your email address and the contents of messages you send when you contact support. We also process your email address to send account verification and password-reset messages.

Stream Gazer does not use third-party advertising trackers and does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts; verify email addresses and subscriptions; bind and unbind devices; provide, synchronize, and edit Cloud Hosted Catalogs; send service messages; respond to support requests; prevent fraud and abuse; diagnose reliability or security problems; comply with law; and protect Stream Gazer, our users, and others.

We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

How information is shared

We may disclose information only as needed to:

• hosting, infrastructure, database, security, and email-delivery providers that operate the service for us;
• Apple, Google, Microsoft, or another marketplace when verifying and managing a purchase or subscription;
• comply with law, legal process, or a valid government request, or protect rights, safety, and security; or
• support a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.

Service providers are permitted to use information only to perform services for us and must protect it appropriately.

Streams and external services

Stream Gazer opens the catalog, channel-image, and stream URLs that you choose. Those resources are delivered by their respective hosts, which may receive information such as your IP address, device or app details, and request time under their own privacy policies. Except for Stream Gazer-hosted demos, Stream Gazer does not host or proxy the video and audio content at third-party stream URLs.

Retention

We retain account information, device bindings, verified subscription records, and hosted catalog content while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Verification and password-reset records expire after a limited period, and rate-limiting records are designed to expire after their security window.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period. Some information may remain temporarily in protected backups or be retained longer when required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Your privacy choices

• Use without an account: use a self-hosted catalog.json instead of the Cloud Hosted Catalog.
• Device controls: view and unbind devices from your Stream Gazer account.
• Subscription controls: manage or cancel a subscription through the marketplace account where you purchased it.
• Access, correction, or deletion: contact us to request a copy, correction, or deletion of your account information. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

To make a privacy request, email info@streamgazer.app. Deleting an account ends access to its Cloud Hosted Catalog and removes its associated catalog and device bindings, subject to the retention exceptions above.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. These include encrypted network connections, password hashing, short-lived verification and reset credentials stored as hashes, secure session cookies, access controls, and rate limiting. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Children

Stream Gazer is not directed to children below the age at which they may consent to data processing where they live. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the authorization required by law. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information improperly.

International processing

Information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Stream Gazer changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle personal information, we will provide additional notice where required.
